22 months! I can't believe that Josh is almost 2 years old. It's been the best 2 years of my life, though. He is a pure joy and blessing in our home. At 22 months, Josh is now talking in 2-3 word sentences. It's crazy how this is exploded in the last 2 weeks. Some examples are, "Mommy go?" when he can't find me, "Daddy work" when Ryan leaves in the mornings, "Eat more ______" (he knows the names of just about everything he eats, and "I want water". He is obsessed with colors. He goes around the house saying "yellow, purple, green!" all day long. I don't think he has it down pat yet, but he's working hard on it. However, he does name them correctly when we give him his fruit snacks (he has to name the color before I give him another one). Funny kid.
He also really loves cars, trucks, motorcycles, helicopters and knows a lot of the names of trucks (because of his truck book) such as "concrete mixer" and "fire engine". He loves diggers the most, though.
I think the biggest thing is his imagination. He will put 2 trucks together and say, "hug" and kiss everything he loves. What a sweetheart. He also loves to feed his stuffed animals and says, "eat" while he gives them something.
He is still getting into EVERYTHING and I can't believe the constant messes that I am cleaning up. He still refuses to feed himself with a spoon and fork and throws them on the ground and says, "NO!". I guess just time and patience will do the trick on that one. He also loves to count. I will hear him in the back room counting from 1 to 10 by himself all the time and he can say "13, 14, 15, 16" in a row, but refuses to count the #'s 11 and 12. I think we have a math brainiac on our hands. :)
I can't wait to see what the next few months bring!

You bring back so many memories of my little boy. He was obsessed with "diggers" for a few years. We never put a sandbox in the backyard, because he was perfectly happy "digging" in the dirt with his big yellow backhoe and dump truck. I remember hours of sitting and watching construction sites. One time, we wanted to reward him for good behavior, and told him we would do whatever he wanted. Needless to say...we packed a lunch, drove to a construction site, and watched to workers for about an hour. I love the adventures our kids take us on! Joshua is just the cutest thing. You are the greatest, happiest mom I know. And Joshua always seems so happy! Good work!
Emily, you are such a sweetheart! Thanks. We have yet to take Josh to a construction site, but Ry and I have talked about it several times. We'll probably do it when it gets warmer. Thanks for the reminder. Oh...and I only put up the happy pictures, there are plenty of times when he's moody :)
Cute pictures and nice comments. I can't believe how fast he catches on to talking. When he was here I only heard him say a few two words together. I heard he was saying Hi Grandma and Hi Grandpa. How sweet is that? I want to talk to you on the web cam but I haven't had time because I'm really involved with the stake Valentines party right now. Love you. Mom
They grow so fast! It is crazy. Also, thanks for sharing that book idea. I really need to check it out.
