Happy Easter 2008

I realize that this post is a little late, but Happy Easter! We had a great week full of dying Easter eggs, Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets, and Easter dinner.

Dying the eggs was NOT as fun as I had anticipated. Josh was way more into dying his hands (and splashing in the water) then the eggs. He'd also throw the eggs into the bowl, immediately cracking them. Ryan was very frustrated with the whole event--don't let that smile fool you. I thought it was worth the mess because he had a good time. He totally dug that yolk, though and was convinced it was a ball.

The Easter egg hunt at Copeley was great fun. They started the hunt as we were walking down the hill and by the time we reached the playground, most of the eggs were gone! But Josh didn't really care too much. He found a few eggs, but was just as excited when he found some rocks (and probably more!) When he discovered that candy was inside of those plastic eggs, he pretty much ate most of Tyler's candy from his basket! That Tyler is a good little sharer.

The Easter Bunny dropped off an Easter basket during Josh's nap and he woke up to even more eggs with candy inside, and a gigantic bubble maker. I am convinced that Ryan actually bought this toy for himself. It was pretty cheap, though, and gets bubble soap everywhere. Josh loves it without the bubbles, though and calls it his fan because it blows air with the push of a button. Who knew?

We ended the day with having a few friends over for dinner. Josh was in heaven with both Sam and Natalie over. He asks for them to come over all the time, now. I'm happy he enjoys being around other kids his age. I made a honey-baked ham and mashed potatoes. Dez brought over 2 delish side dishes (pea salad & green bean casserole) and Sonya brought rolls and cookies/ice cream. It was such a fun evening!

I am so grateful for our Savior and his resurrection. I am grateful for the knowledge that we all will live again after this life ends, and especially for the knowledge that I get to see my family and my baby Matthew again and raise him in the next life. What an exciting day that will be! I am grateful for the knowledge that my Savior loves me, knows me, and helps me each and every day. I am also grateful for the Atonement and the ability to have the Savior carry me through my trials and help to purify me when I make mistakes. What a wonderful knowledge it is to have the gospel!

Yes...he is actually carrying rocks here instead of eggs and look at that smile!
