Do you know why toddlers are so good and fast at learning their opposites? It's because they live by that principle. Examples:
Mom: Josh, get down from there.
Josh: No. Josh get up from there.
Mom: I'm going to turn the light on.
Josh: I turn the light off.
Mom: Josh, use your spoon when you eat.
Josh: I use fingers.
(Ok, that last one wasn't necessarily an opposite, but it is to a toddler. If he's not using a spoon or fork, he eats with his fingers...makes sense to me!)
And the last word...
The first thing that Josh does when he wakes up in the morning is run into my room, climb up on my bed, and lift up my shirt to see "mommy's BIG egg". I told him that mommy is carrying "an egg" for the baby to live in until he's ready to come out. It seemed to be the easiest way to explain my bulging belly. (By the way, did you know he has a baby brother in his belly, too?)
Anyway, he rubs my belly and says "soft" and things like "baby budder, come out!" And I say, "not quite yet". His response, "6 more weeks". I think it's precious. I have high hopes of him being the best brother in the world.

These are the moments you cherish. You are such a good mom, Kim.
That's so adorable! He'll be a great older brother, he seems like such a sweet kid. Let me know if you need any help before or after the big day. I'm a great cook :)
What a sweet little boy!
Josh is such a sweet, sweet boy that I know he will be a great big brother!
Kim, I am really glad you sent out your blog reminder- I haven't seen it in ages and LOVED reading about everything. Josh is looking so much older and it made me SOOO sad to see him playing with other children, I thought selfishly, no he is NATALIE's friend!! :) Truly though, I am so happy to see you have settled into Arizona and you all have made friends (how could you not!?) and are enjoying all Tuscon has to offer. Josh is such a cutie and he most definitely will make an AWESOME big brother!! I can't wait for that baby to be born! :)
Kim,
So exciting (6 more weeks)! This post made me laugh...thanks! Miss running into you everywhere!

I love the idea of the egg. Great way to explain why you can't see the baby yet. And what fun Joshey quotes. We love that kid!
Hello! So glad you are hanging in there! Six weeks, six weeks. Having two little boys in your home will be such a wonderful adventure. It's been fun to catch up on your life in AZ. I need to post about our Utah adventures ... going to make the blog private, and am in the process of that. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello!
I went running past your parents home last week and thought of you. My folks live a few blocks away. I was wishing you were there visiting so I could pop in for a visit! I'm sure you'll be back in Utah before you know it. :)
congrats on the second baby. that's great. and it's good to see that things are going well for you in arizona. good luck with things.
