Scorpian Bite

I was standing in the dining room when I felt something on my shin. I looked down to see a scorpian on my leg! I screamed and Ryan ran out of the bathroom with shaving cream all over his head. He thought something had happened to Nathan. I told him to kill the scorpian. He got a shoe and smacked him.

This little critter's bite hurts! It feels like shots of poison and pain throbbing down your leg. Then it goes numb. Then the pain sparks again.

We called Poison Control (mainly for the safety of the breastmilk) and they said my bite sounded mild. But if I started to twitch uncontrollably through my muscles or have blurry vision, I need to go the the ER.

Luckily I didn't. But the pain lasted for about 12 hours.

We've got to get our apartment sprayed. Heaven forbid Josh gets bitten.

That is SO CRAZY! I am glad Ryan was there, and that it didn't find either of your sweet boys along the way as a snack first. How Scary!!

What?! Oh my gosh. I'd move to the top story of a hotel. I hate big bugs.

i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i'm pretty sure there is no "spray" for scorpions. they can spray for bugs to eliminate their food supply, but nothing actually kills the scorpions. we bought a black light to check ellena's room with when she goes to bed since they will glow.
i hate them. that is one disadvantage of living in the desert. i've never been stung though, it sounds pretty nasty.

scorpian bite! You should have stayed in Virginia! Just kidding! I hope that is a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Ya, there's nothing you can use except sticky traps to catch them. No spray or anything works. We've had A LOT of experience with them. One was under Alissa's toy box right where she was sitting a little while ago. Nancy Wang in our ward got stung on her arm twice about six months ago and she was twitching for a day and even her eyes were twitching and her entire body went numb. She said her arm was numb for over a week. I hate scorpions! I'm glad you're feeling better though.

Kim,
YUCK!!! Being stung by a scorpian is one of my worst nightmares. I hate desert bugs: scorpians, black widows, trantulas...you name it, I am scared to death of them.
On a brighter note, your little guy is so cute!
