My Silly Josh

Let me take a minute to tell you about my Silly Josh. Or shall I say Curious Josh? Or maybe even Destructive Josh? They all fit.

He is a ball of energy these days. He gets into everything, EVERYTHING and experiments with it. He loves playing in the sink---washing his hands with soap, brushing his teeth with OUR toothbrushes, and climbing on the counter and getting into the things that SHOULD BE out of his reach. I found him with my prenatal vitamins container putting all my prenatals into the same slot. THESE WERE ON THE HIGHEST SHELF IN OUR APARTMENT! He is one smart kid and he carries his stepping stool with him everywhere to reach the unreachable---and if he's still too short, he brings over chairs.

He has put many things in water lately that are not waterproof--such as my cell phone, our regular phone, and a video game controller. So far only the controller broke permanently (Ryan was not happy about that!)

He loves, LOVES playing in the kitchen. He'll get out a bunch of appliances and play with them, such as the popcorn popper or apple slicer. He grabs a chair and pulls it up to the counter to "cook". He gets out all my spices on my spice rack and pours them into pans. The salt and pepper shakers are a definite favorite. He "washes" the dishes with soap and bubbles. He puts on the pot holder, opens the oven and puts food in there.

The other day, I started baking and smelled something burning. Josh had put a bunch of bread and cheese in the oven.

He also loves to get out the dry-erase markers and "color" things on the counter, such as the stereo or dishes. Those can be easily cleaned, thankfully.

After I had made these lemon squares, I was letting them cool down on the counter. Josh had taken our magnets off of the fridge to "decorate" it. Where does he get these ideas?

And finally, this boy LOVES to hide. He hides everywhere, anytime he can. His favorite places to hide are in the stores (such as Target) behind the clothes racks. I swear if I didn't actually watch him hide, I would be calling security over a kidnapped boy. He is a GREAT hider. He also likes hiding behind bushes, in boxes, cupboards, and closets. The picture below is him hiding in his closet. He fell asleep waiting for us to find him. The problem is, we didn't know we were playing.

Oh, and where am I when all of this is happening? Usually feeding Nathan. That's one the challenges of having more than one child. If you're paying attention to one, the other is off causing trouble. Oh, our Josh. Our life would be so boring without you!
