Virginia: Charlottesville: Part III

Lastly we went to visit our alma mater, Charlottesville, where Ryan attended and graduated from medical school at the University of Virginia. (Can you tell how proud I am?)

We stayed with our best friends, the Bowens. They have 2 kids: Natalie (3) and Chase (7 months). The weather was horrible while we were there. Hurrican Ida made it very cold, windy, and wet. So, we stayed indoors most of the time. We did get out to visit a medical school friend (Anjan), and visit a few of our favorite stores.

The highlight was when some old friends came over for a party, thrown for us. It was so wonderful to see and visit with these cute girls and see how their families have grown over the past year and a half.

We also played ourselves lots of Halo when the kids went to bed and ate treats like crazy! I got to run with Desiree a few days before her 1/2 marathon (I'm so proud of her!) in the pouring rain, which was actually fun, too.

Josh and Natalie watching a flick. They still are so sweet together.
The Bowens. Yeah!

Halo time!!

Josh slept on a marker...it was hilarious. We had to wake him up to leave for the airport and I couldn't stop laughing!

Chilling out at the airport. From start to finish was 22 hours. We had a layover in NYC for 7 hours! We flew on stand-by and that was just how it worked out. Then when we finally got to Phoenix, we had a 2 hour drive home. Long day, but worth it! Ryan said this vacation was relaxing and fun, which is perfect because this vacation was mainly for him!
