Virginia: Richmond: Part I

We had so much fun in Richmond with my brother, Deric and his wife, Shelece. They have 2 little twin boys (Berkley and Briggs) that are just a few months older than Josh. They also have another boy, Marshall, who is a month younger than Nathan.

The weather was perfect while we were there. Mid 70's and no clouds. We were introduced to their lovely house and spent a lot of time in their yard watching the kids play together. They fed us delicious food and took us on a couple adventures.

On our first day, we went to Millmont Gardens. It was just what I wanted to do: play in the leaves, go for an Autumn walk, and pet zoo animals. The scenery was breathtaking. I miss Virginia falls (sigh).

You can tell that Nate was done with pictures/strolling as he arches his back...
I love this pond!

That night we watched the movie "Coraline" which is the strangest movie I have ever seen. Everyone fell asleep except me and my brother.
The next day was Sunday, so after church and a lovely lunch, we took a walk down to their nearby park. It is surrounded by a lake. We had fun throwing in and skipping rocks.

After another delicious dinner, we had Family Home Evening. We learned about David and Goliath and then threw marshmellows at a blown-up picture of him. The kids enjoyed the marshmellow treats afterwards.
We finished with a game that Ryan and I won. And that was our cue to leave Richmond on a happy note!

The next morning I did get to go on a run with my brother (who is super fast) that I enjoyed. I sure wish we lived closer to them. We really had a great time.
