April is for the Monkeys

During April, we had a few fun adventures amist Ryan's awful Oncology rotation.  I despise Oncology.  It is non-stop stress and little sleep for Ryan.  Which makes life overall stressful for us all.  So it's nice when we can get in little adventures here and there.

For Easter, the kids colored their eggs and the Easter Bunny did his thing by hiding eggs hidden with candy all over the house and also gave each of them an Easter basket full of toys and books (an all about me book and a toy story laser gun amongst a few other smaller gifts).  The boys loved it.  The kids got all dressed up in their ties and we bought Maddie a beautiful purple flowered dress.  They looked so cute.  When we got home from church to take pictures, our camera battery died.  Just our luck.  So I didn't get any family Easter pictures this year.  However, we had an enjoyable day at church and a delicious BBQ afterwards.

Ryan and Joshua took a Saturday afternoon and built a rocket together.  They got the supplies at Hobby Lobby.  Josh wanted a red one, so they painted it.  It took a few days to dry before we got to go the the park and blast it off.  The first time was perfect.  Super cool and exciting.  The second time, Ryan didn't stuff in the parachute in correctly and it shot straight up, then crashed down and broke in half.  We eventually fixed it and now it shoots a bit crooked, but still works okay.  It's our new family hobby.

Maddie continues to be the princess in our lives.  She had no treatments this month, so we just got to enjoy bringing her places and doing new things with her.  She got another cold, but it wasn't awful.  It did cause her to lose her appetite a little, which is why she is so small for her age.  Too much sickness for our little one.  She is still a quick crawler and pulls up and cruises along everything.  She also learned to clap.

Josh got a new bowtie and sports it around each Sunday.  He loves the positive attention he gets from the other kids and teachers.  I think he looks mighty good in it.  It fits him well.

One Sunday when Ryan had to work, I took the kids to the duck park (Agua Caliente) after church.  We had such a fun time feeding the ducks and taking a small hike.  Joshua found a stick that looked like a broom and pretended to be Harry Potter.  I tried to get in a sibling picture, but that's the best I could manage.  Overall, not a bad month.
